Refuse Rethink Rebuild Records News

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out our site. Let me take a moment to introduce to you what this is all about. My name is Sal and for the past 10 years or so I’ve played in a band called Dead Ellington. I recently started a new project called Rebuilder. While being in DE, and working for numberous bands, I’ve learned a lot about the music business. I’ve learn how to live a DIY lifestyle and have a grassroots mentality. I’ve also seen how expensive it is to put out a record on your own.

With Rebuilder I wanted to try something new. I wanted to release an EP. I love full lengths but most can’t make it through a full length. I wanted to record it for the minimum as possible with still keeping our sound. We share a space with Fork In Hand Studios so we were able to record whenever we could all find time. I also didn’t want to press over 1,000 records and have them sit in a closet. Yes people do buy records but if we play a show to 100 people and 10 buy CD’s, then 90 left with a CD or your music. I figured if it cost is minimum to record then lets give it out for a pay what you will. At shows we can pass out download cards to everyone. All 100 people leave with our music. Hopefully this means more people will love our music and come hangout at our shows.

This was a big, great idea for me. I figured why not do this for other bands too. Release EP’s or single tracks of bands that we like and feel are unknown. We hope you will sign up for our newsletter so we can keep you informed and you can help promote shows for our artist as they come up.
